2013 Budget Discussions

During 2012, Tredyffrin will review the services provided by a different Township department each month at a Board of Supervisors public meeting, as well as revenue sources available to pay for those services. The goal is to engage in public dialogue that will lead to goals for the 2013 budget that begins in the fall. The services involved with maintaining streets and storm sewers will be presented Monday, February 27th, 2012, 7:30 pm.


New Stormwater & Grading Permit Application

The Engineering Department has recently updated the Stormwater and Grading permit application. If you have any questions, call the Engineering Department at (610) 644-1400.


Paoli Transportation Center Project Announcements

At the January 23rd Board of Supervisors meeting, consulting firms were selected for two Township projects related to the Paoli Transportation Center. McMahon Associates, Inc. was selected as the engineering and public involvement consultant team to complete a study outlining recommendations for road improvements needed to support the planned Transportation Center. Bergmann Associates, Inc. was selected as the engineering team to design various signal and roadway improvements for the Routes 252 and 30 Intersection. The same week, Septa selected Gannett Fleming to design the new station and parking garages. An important component of these projects is public outreach. Later this year, there will be more information about opportunities for input.


Road Construction

Aqua will be restricting traffic to one lane on weekdays beginning Monday, February 6th through May 31st, 7:45 am to 2:15 pm, for replacement of a water main.

Aqua will be closing traffic on Old Lancaster Road (between Route 30 and Conestoga Road) beginning Monday, February 20th through May 31st, 7:45 am to 2:15 pm, for replacement of a water main. Traffic will be detoured on Route 30, Old Lancaster Road, and Howellville Road.

Aqua began replacing the water main on the following streets: Contention Lane (between West Wind Drive and a point 290 feet north of West Wind Drive), Churchill Drive (between Coldstream Drive and a point 200 feet north of Coldstream Drive), and Winston Way (between West Wind Drive and a point 135 feet north of Coldstream Drive). This project is scheduled to be completed around the end of February 2012. Crews will work weekdays between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm daily, and may be some minor traffic disruptions during this construction project but flagmen will be onsite. Trout Creek Stormwater Overlay District Ordinance

Tredyffrin Township has introduced a zoning amendment to develop an overlay district in the Trout Creek Watershed. The overlay district is intended to encourage redevelopment on large properties in the Trout Creek Watershed that will include stormwater facilities to better manage runoff. The Township has conducted studies to evaluate and develop recommendations to improve the condition of the Trout Creek Watershed. The zoning amendment is part of the implementation effort. This amendment has been reviewed and revised by both the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors at respective public meetings, and the Public Hearing for the Trout Creek Overlay District ordinance and accompanying map has been continued to the Board of Supervisors meeting on Monday, February 27th, 7:30 pm in the Township Building.

Request for Proposals for Analysis and Revisions of Zoning Ordinance Commercial Districts

Tredyffrin Township seeks a consultant team for Analysis and Revision of the Zoning Ordinance Commercial Districts for the purposes of encouraging economic development, lessening environmental impacts, and augmenting a multi-modal transportation network. This RFP is also available on PennBid's and Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission's websites. The closing date is February 16th, 2012.


Safe Winter Driving Tips from the Traffic Committee

The Traffic Committee has issued safety tips for driving this winter season. In addition, local fire companies provide tips on staying safe this holiday season on their websites. Please follow the links on our First Responders page for more information.


What's New with Inspections and Permits? New Guidelines and reduced application requirements!

In an effort to increase review and issuance rates, our Senior Building Inspector Mike Pilotti has revised the requirements for filing permit applications to lessen the burden on the customer. Be sure to check out the revised guidelines!


Emergency Management

The Township's Emergency Management Office offers a variety of emergency management programs such as the Chester County RSAN program to immediately contact you during a major crisis or emergency, 511 PA for 24-hour information service and programs available for people with special needs.
