Board of Supervisors

Tredyffrin Township is governed under the rules of a Home Rule Charter approved by voters. Effective in 1976, the Charter places responsibility for local government in the hands of the Board of Supervisors. Three are elected from districts, while four are chosen at-large by all Tredyffrin Township voters. Supervisors serve four-year overlapping terms and receive $3,000 per year for their services.

At public meetings, the Board of Supervisors establishes Township policy, initiates and adopts ordinances and resolutions, determines the rates for real estate and other taxes, and adopts capital and operating budgets. The meetings also are an opportunity for the public to ask questions, raise concerns, and get information.

* Michael Heaberg was appointed on February 7, 2011 to fill a vacancy. A special election will be held during the primary on May 17, 2011 to fill the seat until the term ends in January 2012.
