September 24, 2006
British General Howe’s Headquarters in Berwyn was a featured stop on the 2nd Annual Historic House Tour at General Howe’s Headquarters in Berwyn. Volunteers, left to right: Jeff Benson of Malvern, Don Christensen of Berwyn, George Graham of Birchrunville and Neil McAloon of Berwyn. Neil and wife, Mia McAloon own the beautiful historic General Howe’s Headquarters and Neil serves as a Board member for the Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust.
Sprucemont, a historic 18th century Georgian manor house in Devon was visited by many guests during the house tour. In the center of this photo, with house tour visitors, is Glenna Keene. Glenna and Herb Fry, both Board members for the Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust shared the duties of hosting Sprucemont on the tour.
Enjoying the 2nd Annual Historic House Tour is Tredyffrin Township Manager, Mimi Gleason with her mother. These ladies are photographed in front of General Howe’s Headquarters in Berwyn.
Another featured stop on the 2nd Annual Historic House Tour was the Barn at Sprucemont. The 18th century barn originally housed a casket-making business but in 2002 was fully restored as the private home for Judy & Luigi DiFilippo. In this photo is Judy DiFilippo showing her home to 3 house tour visitors. Visitors enjoyed talking with the homeowners and volunteers in each of the 7 showcased historic properties.
