Tredyffrin Township Public Libraries Board of Trustees
The Libraries Board determines policy for the Tredyffrin Public Library in Strafford and its branch in Paoli. The Board makes decisions concerning staffing and funding of the Libraries' operations. More than 60% of the operating funds comes from Tredyffrin Township. The Library, established in 1966, now contains over 77,000 volumes in Strafford and an additional 20,000 volumes in Paoli. It also offers computer use including Internet access, video cassettes, magazines, newspapers, records, cassettes and compact discs as well as a substantial reference collection serving all ages. Both buildings run story hours for small children and summer reading programs. The Strafford building provides meeting and conference rooms to community groups. The Library is a member of Access Pennsylvania which allows its card holders to use participating libraries in Pennsylvania without fee.
The Chester County Library in Exton provides some funds, centralized code, cataloging and processing of material and equipment as well as interlibrary loan, and unrestricted use of all county library services to Chester County residents. In addition, the County Library provides a computerized circulation system and on-line catalog. Some additional funding is available from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
