First Responders

Emergency Operations Plan

The Township has an Emergency Operations Plan, which outlines how the Township coordinates with other local, county, state and federal agencies in the event of an emergency, ranging from a hazardous material spill to a natural disaster to a terrorist incident.

In the event of a disaster, the overall responsibility for decision making within Tredyffrin Township rests with the Board of Supervisors. The Board of Supervisors may declare a local emergency upon finding a disaster has occured or is imminent.

When a local emergency is declared, Township personnel and representatives from the township emergency first responder organizations may operate an Emergency Operations Center to coordinate the management of community-wide resources (police, public works, fire, EMS, food, shelters, etc.) with various local, county, state and federal agencies to appropriately respond to an emergency event. The protection of health, safety and welfare of our residents is paramount.

The following are examples of EOC staff activities:

Chester County 9-1-1 Information Registration:

Premise Information – Citizens with unique conditions at their home (elderly person, chronic illness, mobility challenges, and/or language barriers) can have their information added to the County’s dispatch system so that it is immediately available to the 9-1-1 Telecommunicator when a 9-1-1 call is placed. To register your information, please fill out the form found on the Chester County website.

Reverse 9-1-1 – This system can place automated calls to residents, advising them of evolving situations, such as the need to shelter in place, missing persons, or localized flooding. The system picks up the numbers from the listed telephone book. Anyone with unlisted numbers, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), or exclusive use of cell phones who would like to be included should fill out the form on the Chester County website.

Chester County RSAN:

Chester County uses the Roam Secure Alert Network (RSAN) to immediately contact you during a major crisis or emergency. The Chester County RSAN delivers important emergency alerts, notifications and updates to you on all your devices:

When an incident or emergency occurs, authorized senders will instantly notify you using the Chester County RSAN. The Chester County RSAN is your personal connection to real-time updates, instructions on where to go, what to do, or what not to do, who to contact and other important information.
