Tredyffrin Township Summer 2008 Basketball League
The Tredyffrin Township summer basketball league is a recreational program for girls and boys. The opportunity to participate is extended first to Tredyffrin Township residents; other Township residents will be given the opportunity to participate on a first-come, first-serve basis, if spots remain open after the registration deadline for Township residents.
The league is coordinated by a paid, part-time director under the supervision of the Township Recreation Coordinator and the Park and Recreation Board (see separate job description).
The emphasis of the league is on participation. Team rosters will be made up through random distribution of registrations received by the Township Recreation Department. Mandatory playing time requirements will be in effect for each registered player (see Playing Time Requirements).
League configuration:
- Boys: entering grades 8-11
- Girls: entering grades 7-11
For 2008 season, we will accept registrations for two divisions:
- Junior Division for players entering grades 8 and 9* (for boys) or 7 through 9* (for girls)
- Senior Division for players entering grades 9* through 11 (both boys and girls)
(*players entering 9th grade may request either the Junior or Senior Division; Township reserves the right to make the final decision about where to place rising 9th graders, according to need)
If distribution of registrations received is not balanced enough to permit divisional play, all boys will play in one league and all girls will play in another.
Dates:June 23, 2007 thru July 31, 2008
Location: Teegarden Park, with possible expansion to other Township locations, depending on demand (see Enrollment).
Enrollment: Registrations for Teegarden-only league will be capped at 120 boys and 40 girls; if registration demand exceeds these ceilings, consideration will be given to expanding the league, including possible use of other Township locations
Team Size: Maximum roster size of 10 players each

Coaches: Coaches will be volunteers and selected by the League Director, with approval by the Township Recreation Coordinator and the Park and Recreation Board. No more than two coaches per team will be allowed on the sideline during games.
