Sewer Operations

The sewer department consists of a director, foreman, and three operators. The sewer department, along with outside contractors, maintains and operates the 133 miles of pipeline and 9 pumping stations.

Various tasks are performed to keep the system operating properly. Lines are cleaned, televised and degreased; roots are controlled by mechanical and chemical means; deteriorated pipes and manholes are rehabilitated or replaced; PA ONE (http://www.paonecall.org/) calls are performed; pump stations are checked and maintained; inspections are performed; and citizen concerns are addressed. Sewer department personnel are able to respond to emergencies 365 days a year.
