PA2 Training & Education

The two courses offered by Tredyffrin Township Public Access Television are the Basics of Production curriculum and the Basics of Editing curriculum.

Orientation will be folded into the Basics of Production curriculum.

Tredyffrin residents are welcome to attend to learn how to make better home movies.

Tredyffrin residents who would like to begin producing a series to air on PA2 (Comcast Channel 2/Verizon Channel 24) are required to take both courses to become the Lead Certified Producer of that series.Tredyffrin residents who would like to begin producing a series to air on PA2 (Comcast Channel 2) are required to take both courses to become the Lead Certified Producer of that series.

All crewmembers are required to attend the Basics of Production course to become certified to use the production equipment.

Crewmembers would also like to be involved in post-production (editing) are required to attend the Basics of Editing curriculum.

A crewmember does not need to be a Tredyffrin resident and can work on a production as long as the Lead Certified Producer permits.

Every taping, according to the physical demands of the production, requires a certain number of certified crewmembers to safely produce a show. At least three certified crewmembers, one of whom must be the (Tredyffrin resident) Lead Certified Producer, are required for a three-camera studio taping. To ensure that the show has high production values, we strongly recommend that additional crewmembers work the production.

The number of crewmembers required for any field production will be determined by the Studio Manager at the time of the equipment loan. The basic determining factor will always be how many pairs of hands are necessary to safely use the equipment.

The classes will be held on Thursday evenings, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and are repeated on the following Saturday from noon to 2:00 PM. Students may attend either of the classes during the week and are not locked into any one day/time offering.

Space is limited.

Registration is required by 5:00 PM on Monday, September 8, 2008, and can be made by calling Gene Donahue at 610-408-3633 or, preferably, by e-mailing him at gdonahue@tredyffrin.org.
