When do I get my tax bill?
Tax bills are mailed on February 1.

When is my tax bill due (how long do I have to pay my bill)?
If your pay your bill prior to March 31 of each year, you qualify for a discount. Bills paid after May 31 of each year must pay a 10 percent penalty.

Does my mortgage company pay my tax bill?
This is an arrangement made between the taxpayer and the mortgage company.

How much will my tax bill be?
The rate of your tax bill varies yearly based on the millage rate and assessed value of your property.

Does Tredyffrin have a Business Privilege Tax or Merchantile Tax based on the gross receipts of a company doing business in the Township?
No.

Does Tredyffrin have an Earned Income Tax?
No.

Does Tredyffrin have a Local Services Tax?
Yes. The Township recently changed its Emergency and Municipal Services Tax to the Local Services Tax (LST). The current rate is $52 per year, collected in a por rata basis, calculated as $52/# of pay periods per year.

Who is subject to withholdings for the Occupational Privilege Tax?
Those who are employed by companies residing in Tredyffrin.

Is the LST based on where I live or where I work?
It is based on where you work.

I live in Tredyffrin and work outside of the Township. My employer deducts a local tax for the municipality where I work. I was told that municipality will pass the tax on to Tredyffrin - is this true? If not, is there a way to get the money back since Tredyffrin does not have an income tax?
No.

Does Tredyffrin have an income or wage tax?
No.

What is the local tax rate?
Tredyffrin's tax rate is 2.180 mills and is calculated by multiplying .00218 times the assessed value of your property.

I sold this property, what should I do with the bill?
You should forward the bill to the new owner or return it to the Tax Office with the new owner's information.

My name and/or mailing address have changed and I did not get a bill. What should I do?
Make the change of address with the Chester County Assessment Office by calling (610) 344-6105. Name changes must have a legal transfer of title.

What happens if my payment is late?
You are assessed a late fee according to the payment schedule. Payments postmarked on or before March 31 that can be authenticated by the United States Postal Service are accepted. Metered mail postmarks are not accepted.

What if I do not pay my tax bill?
Unpaid taxes are submitted to the Chester County Tax Claim Bureau for collection after December 31 of each year. If you have any questions you may contact the Tax Claim Bureau at (610) 344-6360.
