Canine Unit

The Canine Unit provides support to both the Patrol Division and Detective Unit. These teams are trained in the apprehension of suspects and searching for evidence, property and missing persons.

Tredyffrin Township has two canine teams. The first canine team is trained in the detection of narcotics and has become an invaluable tool in drug interdiction and drug-related arrests. The second team is trained to detect explosives and has played a significant role in the detection of explosive devices.
