Milepost 320-326 Widening (between Valley Forge Interchange and Rt. 29) - The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is currently working of plans to widen and reconstruct approximately 6.2 miles of the Turnpike roadway within Tredyffrin Township.  The project extends from the Valley Forge Service Plaza (in the East) to the newly constructed Route 29 Interchange (in the West).  The planned project will provide additional travel lanes in both the eastbound and westbound directions, as well as provide improvements to the existing center median and side shoulders, install new soundwalls to address noise, as well as stormwater management facilities to control runoff.  The project is currently in the design/permitting phase, and the Turnpike Commission currently has permit applications for review to Tredyffrin Township, as well as the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP), and Chester County Conservation District (CCCD).  Upon completion of permitting the Turnpike plans to move into construction, which currently anticipated to begin in 2014.

Tredyffrin Township, hired E.B. Walsh & Associates, to conduct the Engineering reviews for compliance with the Township’s Stormwater Management Ordinance (Ch. 174), and Flood Hazard District provisions of the Zoning Ordinance (Ch. 208).   Copies of the completed review letters are provide below:
