WINTER RECREATION HEAD COUNSELOR NEEDED
The Parks & Recreation Department hires temporary employees throughout the year to assist with various recreation programs. Currently, the Department is accepting applications for a Winter Recreation Head Counselor. If you are an individual who is organized, enthusiastic, and has experience with Children between the ages of 5 to 12 and are free on Saturday mornings December 7, 2019 - February 22, 2020, then this is the job for you.
The Head Counselor will be responsible for assisting with the supervision of the counselors and campers, implementation of daily activities, organizing and distributing supplies, as well as cleaning up and storage of supplies.
As part of the hiring process the Head Counselor would be required to provide valid PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Federal Criminal History Records. These clearances are required for any position involving interaction with children. Below is information on how to obtain these clearances:
- The Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151) application can be submitted online. Once you enter the link you will be directed to the Child Welfare Portal where you must create an account or log in if you already have an account. - The FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114) - for volunteers who have lived in Pennsylvania for less than ten years
