The Parks & Recreation Department hires temporary employees throughout the year to assist with various recreation programs. Currently the department is accepting applications for Summer Day Camp Counselors. If you are 14 years or older, enthusiastic, enjoy outdoor activities and have experience with or would enjoy working with Children between the ages of 3 to 12, this is the summer job for you.
- Dates – June 26, 2026 – July 31, 2026 (closed on Friday, July 3rd )
- Hours – 8:45 AM – approximately 12:15
- Location – Wilson Farm Park
- Salary – starting at $10.00 per hour, depending on experience.
As part of the hiring process counselors are required to provide valid PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Federal Criminal History Records, as well as passing a drug screen. These clearances are required for any position involving interaction with children.
Below is information on how to obtain these clearances:
- The Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151) application can be submitted online. Once you enter the link you will be directed to the Child Welfare Portal where you must create an account or log in if you already have an account. - The FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114) -
We are requiring staff to be available to work at least 5 of the 6 weeks that camp is scheduled.
