FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tredyffrin Declares Snow Emergency

Berwyn, PA (Friday, January 23, 2026) Tredyffrin Township has declared a Snow Emergency for Saturday, January 24, 2026, starting at 8:00 PM and ending on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 12:00 PM.  As a result, there is no parking permitted on designated snow emergency routes.  Residents are prohibited from parking in the circular part of any cul-de-sac, which impedes the snow removal process. Please follow the link to the Township Code for more information - http://ecode360.com/7115463.

The list of snow emergency routes is on our website. Click here for more information.

Please note it will take 10-12 hours after the snow ceases to complete our cleanup operations with a storm of this size.

Keep the following emergency guidelines in mind:

  • Follow updates by the National Weather Service.
  • Anticipate poor road conditions and when possible, avoid traveling on snow/ice-covered roads, especially overpasses, and bridges. Use main roads and plan trips to avoid extreme curves and hilly areas.
  • Do not travel at all when visibility is poor.
  • Follow plow trucks at a safe distance and allow plenty of room. Also, think that the driver may not be able to always see you and anticipate sudden stops or turns.
  • If you must travel, always take your mobile phone with you and medical/health information. Have necessary medications on hand. If you are diabetic (or have other health issues), please remember to wear a medical alert bracelet.
  • If you must travel, let someone know your destination and when you expect to arrive. Ask them to notify the police department if you fail to arrive or check in.
  • Check and restock the winter emergency supplies such as water, snow brush/ice scraper and extra warm clothing and or a blanket in your car before you leave.
  • Never strike and/or pour water on your windshield to remove ice or snow; shattering may occur. Also, clear all of the snow or ice from all windows, headlights and taillights for maximum visibility.
  • If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 and responders will transport you to the necessary medical facility.
