PA Turnpike has awarded the contractor for their Phase 2 portion of the Proposed Widening and Expansion Project of the Turnpike running through Tredyffrin Township. This Phase 2 portion will pick up on Valley Forge Road (end of Phase 1 Project) and extend the widening and reconstruction all the way past Howells Road/near Yellow Springs Road, and into East Whiteland Township. The project will widen the Turnpike, adding one (1) additional lane in each direction EB/WB and also includes widening of the center median and shoulders, some sound walls (in limited locations) and retaining walls, and stormwater management. H&K Group, Inc. is the contractor for this Phase 2 (MP 320-324) section of the Turnpike Widening and Reconstruction Project. They are estimating approx. a 4-year timeframe for the total construction project. Construction is expected to begin as soon as late January/early February 2026.
